Run the tool (obviously in Windows XP), click on "Automatic Repair" and confirm. I tried even editing the BOOT.INI file, but the boot just freezes or displays that a file is missing when I try to boot another partition. So I expect your boot files to be on the XP partition, and that partition should be mark active, system, boot. Now there are "Windows 7" and "Windows XP" in the boot screen.

Basically the system has always detected my disks out of order but with manual partitioning I've had a few versions of ubuntu working fine - this old post of mine elaborates Messing with boot.ini isn't going to help since NTLDR is what reads boot.ini, and it is missing. EasyBCD makes a copy on the "active" drive (where the BCD is) and also creates a boot.ini in the same location.
